GSC was awarded Special Medal in Recognition of a Century in Support of Geography in 2010 by Royal Geographical Society with Institute of British Geographers (RGS-IBG) in 2010. Since 2012, GSC has won the prizes presented by the China Association of Science and Technology (CAST) for several times, such as Second Prize at S&T Societies’ Innovation and Service Capacity Improvement Program in 2015, Third Prize at S&T Societies’ Capacity on Special Programs in 2012. GSC was ranted 4A at China Social Organization Evaluation Grade by the Chinese Ministry of Civil Administration (MCA) in 2013. The Society was appraised as “Outstanding Scientific and Technological Association” by CAST in 2011 and 2017 respectively.
